How to change WeChat language?
WeChat Translate will only translate text into the language that the same as your interface language. This means, if your WeChat interface language is English, then WeChat will translate the language into English by default. If you need to translate into other languages, you need to change WeChat interface language.
How to change WeChat interface language? That’s the first thing you need to do. And that’s many users want to know too. There’s an English version of QQ, is there an English version of WeChat? That’s what you might want to know. Actually, no matter which version you’ve downloaded, you just need to change the language and then it will change to the English version or international version one automatically. So changing the language is what you need to do. If you don’t need to set up language, you can skip this step (Change WeChat language step).
- Open WeChat.
If you haven’t created WeChat account yet. You need to register WeChat account first. Go to the ultimate WeChat registration tutorial. And after creating WeChat account you should be careful of using it, as WeChat could be blocked easily when WeChat system detected any unnormal activities.
2. Tapping [Me].
After opening WeChat, you will find [Me] on the bottom right of the corner.
3. Go to [Settings].
[Settings] is where you want to change settings on WeChat. So if you need to change something on WeChat this is where you first to go. Such as WeChat password, link phone, notifications, Chat history, backup WeChat, etc.
4. Tapping [General].
In [General], there’re two most settings you might need. The first one is the Language settings, this is what we want today. The other one is [Manage Discover] where you can decide Moments, Shake, People nearby, Mini Programs to show or not. I’m not going to show you today, will update later.
5. Click on [Language].
6. Select the language.
You can select a language to show in WeChat interface. If you select [Auto], then WeChat language will be selected the same as your phone device’s default language.

How to translate WeChat Chat messages on WeChat?
As I said, most users are using WeChat to contact Chinese. Maybe Chinese friends, Chinese manufactures, business partners, etc. So I will take translate Chinese into English as an example.
We all know google translate is a great translation tool. But if we are chatting with someone WeChat, open google translate to get the words you understand. It’s not convenient at all. What you need to do is just a few clicks.
- Long press the chat message.
- Click on [Translate].
- The message will be translated to what you want.
If the translated message is not what you want, you should go back to the previous steps to change your WeChat default language. As WeChat translates the language the same as your WeChat interface language.
The WeChat translate service is provided by Micro-soft translate service. It’s accurate enough to translate the basic language. Apparently, it’s a bot translate, so you can’t rely on it too much to chatting with something really important. You should keep that in mind.
However, after you already know the messages exactly meaning, the translate messages below the message will make the chatting box looks so messy, especially for those people who want to take a screenshot of the chatting. In this case, you can hide the translated message. What you need to do is long-press the translated message. Then you will see [Hide Translation] on the pop-up. Click on that the translated message will be hidden.
Will someone you talking with knows you’re using WeChat translate?
NO, definitely No. You don’t need to worry about that will they know you’re using WeChat translate when you chatting with them. The translate is only showing you on your end. Nobody will know you’re using WeChat translate.
How to translate WeChat Moments posts?
Do you like to see other’s WeChat moments? The WeCat moments is kinda similar to the Facebook story. People will share something with WeChat friends on WeChat moments. As I have shown you how to translate WeChat messages, the way to translate WeChat Moments is almost the same.
1. Tapping [Discover].
The first thing you need to is going to WeChat Moment by tapping [Discovery] on the bottom of the screen. And then For those who can’t find
2. Clicking on [Moments].
If you can’t find WeChat Moments after tapping [Discover], then that’s because you didn’t set it to show there. You need to go [Settings]>[General]>[Manege Discover] to select Moments to show.
3. Long-press the WeChat Moments text, and then click on [Translte].
What you need to do is long-press the WeChat Moments text, and then clicking on [Translate]. If you want to hide the translation, you need to click on the text(Not translated text) again and then tap [Untranslate].
How to translate WeChat articles on WeChat?
The latest version of WeChat launched the article translate feature. Tha’s a big move! If you want to get the latest news about China or the business modal of China, etc. You can subscribe to some WeChat Offical account you are interested in. In the past, you might think it’s useless to you because you don’t know Chinese. How could you read WeChat articles? From now on, you can do it, as WeChat launched the article translate feature. - Click on [Subscriptions] on the chat list.

- Tapping the three dots[…] on the top-right corner of the screen.
- Select [Translate Full Text] on the pop-up.

- Go to the “Discover” tab and select “Scan” Or tap [+] and then select “scan”.
After that, place text such as from a menu or a newspaper in screen and tap the camera button and it will automatically translate the text. This is a great option for when you’re traveling or on-the-go. - If you want to translate text images from your picture album.
You can select the picture album icon after selecting “Scan” and then select which text image you want to translate.
Also, you can translate the text image on chat. what you need to do is tap the image on chatting to make sure the image is full-screen shown. And then long-press the image. it will pop-up other features, you just need to select [Translate Image Text]. And then it will automatically translate the text of image.
