How to reset your QQ password? (Step by Step in English)

No matter how hard you’ve tried, you just can’t remember your QQ password. In this case, you might need to go to reset your QQ password. But you just don’t know any Chinese and QQ don’t launch any pages in English to let you reset, retrieval and other account safety issues. What is QQ international?

QQ is the most famous IM and social tool in China. With the development, Tencent company(The owner of the QQ) has launched the international version of QQ to overcome language barriers. Which means the users from outside China can use QQ easily without knowing Chinese characters. And QQ international offers English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, German, Korean, and Spanish for users to choose.

How to reset QQ password when you forgot your QQ password？

You will find that there are only Chinese characters when you’re trying to get your qq password back. In this case, you can either try to understand Chinese characters or follow my steps with images step by step.

way 1 ：Reset QQ password on your phone.

If you didn’t link phone number or email to your QQ account. Then you might need to check out the way 2 below.

Download QQ international App and then install it.You can download the QQ international App on Google play store or Apple store, even from the official website on your mobile browser.
Click on the [Need help?] button on the bottom left-hand corner.
Click on [Forgot password] on the screen.
Once you clicked on the Need help, then it will pop up two options for you to choose. You need to click on [Forgot password] option.If you just want to login without any password or you don’t want to use a password to log in, then you can choose [SMS verification login] with your phone number. In this case, you don’t need to reset your password. What you need to do is entering your phone number and then enter the SMS verification code.

But I still recommend you to use qq password to log in. Because you’re not able to login to qq account when your phone without SMS card but you can log in to qq account without SMS card by using the password. And it will be more easy for your account’s safety using a password to log in.

After that, click on QQ password[QQ密码].

There are two types of your QQ account password. One is “QQ password[QQ密码]” the other is “QQ email password[QQ邮箱独立密码]”. They both can be used to log in QQ account. Most of you only need to use “QQ password”. So you only to click on [QQ 密码].

Enter your QQ number[QQ号]/email address[邮箱地址]/phone number[手机号]. then submit that.

You can choose one of them that you have used before to enter. If you are using a phone number as your login account and your phone number is outside China. Then you should click on Not China phone number? [海外手机号？].

Submit that，click on[确定].

Drag the slider below to fit the puzzle piece.

After that，enter your phone number.

You will be requested to enter your phone number which had linked to your QQ account before. And then click Next[下一步].

Enter your verification code.

Before you get a verification code, you need to click send[发送] button first. And then, a verification code will be sent to your phone. Entering verification code before it’s invalid. And click confirm[确定]button to next step.

Entering your new password to reset.

Now，you will see a resetting password page. Input your new password.
Make sure that your new password will be easily remember. If you are not sure what you have entered，you can check preview password[显示密码] Checkbox. Then, And click confirm[确定]button to next step.

Reset your QQ password successfully. And then you can log in with your new password.

Way 2 ： Reset your QQ password on your computer.

Sometimes, you just want to reset or retrieval your QQ password on your PC or Mac. Then you can go to QQ account safety official website. Unfortunately, what you can find is still not in English, only Chinese characters.

The good thing is the steps are almost the same as the retrieval QQ password on your phone.

Enter your QQ account.
Your QQ account could be your QQ ID or phone number, even the weibo. Actually, for most of us, what we need to enter is your QQ ID or phone number. (NOTE: QQ ID is the QQ number.)
Drag the slider to the right place.
Once you drag the slider to the right place, you will see a green check icon (验证成功). Which means you can go to the next step.
Click on the blue button(确定) to confirm what you enter and submit.
And then you need to enter your real name.
Select your ID card type
It could be your ID card, passport, or Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents. After selecting your card type, you need to enter the card number below. If you don’t want to provide your ID card you can click the triangle to select the card you want to prove your identity.
Enter your phone number.
Tap the triangle to select your region code. If you don’t know your country in Chinese, you use google to translate it. And then enter your phone number.NOTE: If you don’t know or can remember things as below showed, you don’t need to. But you need to know that the more details you provide the more chance to get your password again or get your account back.
Linked your email address（您绑定过的邮箱）.
What’s that mean? Some people might have linked your email to your QQ account, but for some reasons, unlink it to your QQ account now.
Trying to remember your password.
It could be your old password or the new password. You can add more old password by clicking the add more (添加更多).
The last information you need to provide is your QQ friends who are contacting frequently. Including their real name, QQ number, and their phone number.
