How to sign up QQ account

Currently, it will be more difficult to sign up QQ account than ever before. Sometimes, it would happen that when you go into the sign-up page the languish is in Chinese. However, you know nothing about Chinese and you have no choice but to turn off the page. Or the page keeps showing service is busy, when you are trying to create QQ account, it says you have too many attempts. So, I write this article to show you how to sign up QQ account and how to avoid being blocked.

What is QQ?

QQ and WeChat belong to the same company. And these two social media platforms are the most popular platform. Actually, there’s no other instant social media platform in China. I mean instant social media platforms. Therefore, the features of WeChat and QQ are almost the same.

Maybe you’ve tried everything you can to create WeChat account but are still not able to. Because creating WeChat account need someone to verify you. But there’s no need for any verification to register QQ account. So QQ is the best alternative social media in China. As for me, what I like most is transferring files via QQ. Big size file and high speed without paying.

If you want to contact someone in China or you’re in China, QQ is what you need. Also, it will keep your WeChat account safer if you link QQ account to WeChat.

Can I create QQ account without my phone number?

The answer is a big NO. Creating qq account required a phone number since 2016. So don’t waste your time finding a way to sign up qq account without phone number. Moreover, the virtual phone number is unacceptable too.

NOTE: One phone number can only register one QQ account.

Why QQ keeps saying “The service is busy” and “Too many attempts”？

When you were told that “the service is busy right now” or “too many attempts”, please try again later. Then you should wait for a little while and try again. Or switch from webpage to phone device to create QQ account. (Vice versa). Don’t worry about the Chinese language, I’ve updated the blog, will show you step by step.

NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TOO MANY TIMES to sign up with your IP and your phone number even you are from China. Or it will say that there are unusually high amounts of sign-ups from your IP address or your phone number. When you have tried more than three times but still failed, I recommend you to clear cache and cookies in your browser and try again later or the next day. Or change the IP you are using to create a QQ account.

If you have created more than one QQ account with your IP then I recommend you to change your IP to sign up for another QQ account.

Unable to receive SMS verification code?

If you didn’t receive any verification code, the reasons may be one of them as follows.

• Country/region you selected is wrong. please confirm that the country/region you selected for your phone number is correct.
  
• Check whether the phone number you entered is correct. NOTE: there is no need to enter the country code again. 
  
• Make sure your phone is able to receive SMS messages. you can ask your friend to send you a message, check whether your phone is able to receive a message or not. if your phone still can’t receive messages, it could be a poor network connection, your number is roaming/out of credit/out of service, etc. please check it, and try again later.
  
• Check whether your phone has blocked SMS messages from unknown senders or not. or you have any anti-virus App which may block SMS messages. if so, you can turn off the blocking feature temporarily, and request another SMS verification code again. Alternatively, you can also opt for “Verify via phone call”.
  
• It could be your phone number issue. Do not use a virtual number to register QQ or WeChat. Sometimes, if your phone number is operated by a virtual network operator then your phone number may be blocked by mistakes.

If your phone is still unable to receive verification code, you may use another phone number or mobile phone to register. (If still failed, then it could be the bug of QQ, you should wait until the bug is fixed .)

Tips :You can change your linking phone number after you sign up successfully on QQ official security. And I will show you how to change you linking phone number to QQ on next guide.

#1: Sign up QQ account via the webpage

Basically. Registering qq account via webpage is the most way for people who don’t understand the Chinese language. You might have tried to create QQ account via phone application (QQ international). However, after entering phone number and clicking on the sign-up button. It shows the webpage is not available, might be permanently down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

In this case, you can fix this error by going to the webpage. And this way will show you step by step on how to sign up QQ account via the webpage.

Step1. Go to QQ registration page.

You can enter “QQ sign up” on the google search. Then, the first link of the results pages should be the QQ registration link.

Or you can click on the qq registration URL or click here to go to qq registration official webpage.

Step2. Choose the language.

It happens that the qq registration webpage is not in English by default. If you click on the link gave you, that’s why I recommend you google the registration webpage. What if the language is in Chinese? It’s super easy to change the language of the qq by clicking the top right-hand corner[简体中文 or 繁体中文] to choose the language.

Step3. Enter your Nickname and Password.

As for the nickname, you can change it after creating account successfully. And logging to qq account is not by name, is by QQ ID(QQ number), you should aware of that.

When it comes to passwords, there’re so many people who forgot their passwords. And when they try to login to QQ account, but fail to, and then test the password again and again. The result is that your account could be blocked as too many attempts to log in. QQ might think your account is unsafe, hacked. So, please write qq ID down if needed.

The password should be: 1. not contain space.  2. about 8-16 characters.  3. secure enough.

Step4. Select your region/country.

The region or country is not where you live but where your phone number belongs to. If you live in China now but the phone number is registered in the USA. Then you should select the USA region by clicking and scrolling down to find the region.

Step5. And then, select your region and enter your mobile phone number.

The phone number is the only way to get your password back when you forgot. You can find your password, fix account security issues by using phone number.

Step6. Send the SMS verification code.

After entering the phone number, the page will show up request SMS code button. You will get an SMS verification code on your phone, you need to enter it before the countdown timer. If failed to, you can request again. If not get the SMS code message, please check your phone can get messages normally and check the reason could be what I listed above.

Step7. Check the box below and click [Sign up now].

The Privacy Policy should be checked by default. If not, you need to check that and then click on [Sign up now] to finish the last process of registration qq account.

If everything goes well, you will get a QQ ID (QQ number). As I said, this is for logging method, not by your name. So please write it down and save your QQ ID somewhere. In case of forgetting it. If you lost your QQ number, it could be a frustrating thing for you. Because some pages of QQ webpage supports in Chinese only.

NOTE: The QQ account will be recycled if you were not to login in three days. So, I recommend you to login immediately.

Finally, the page will show you sign-up successful and you need to save your QQ number to your note in case you forgot it. And you should log in to your QQ account in three days, or your account will be recycled.

#2: Sign up QQ account via phone device (QQ International Application)

This way is for people who don’t want to create QQ account on desktop (PC webpage). Or failed to sign up QQ account via QQ International Application. And sometimes, you will see the error when you create QQ account on QQ international. So, let’s get started!

NOTE: qq international has been stopped developing by Tencent since 2021. So don’t waste your time to download qq international, it’s not working anymore. Please go to Chinese qq instead. Check my way three below.

Step 1. Download QQ international App to your phone.

You can download QQ international App from the google play store or the Apple store. And I don’t recommend you to download the App from third-party channel. The QQ international icon should be like this. Don’t download the wrong App.

Or you can download the QQ international App from the official website. Select your phone platform and choose the Android or iPhone version.

Step 2. Open QQ international and Click on [Sign up] on the bottom right corner.

If you got a language problem, you need to tap the top-right corner icon and then select the language. Basically, the language might be set in Chinese by default depending on your mobile phone device is a Chinese brand mobile phone or not.

And then, Click on the [Sign up] icon on the bottom right of the screen.

Step 3. Fill in Phone Number.

You need to select your region code. As I said, the region is not where you’re living, is where your phone number was registered. After that, you need to enter your phone number.

Step 4. Check the Terms and Privacy and then click on [Next].

The [Next] button will show up after you entered the phone number and check the Termas and Privacy. And then confirm your mobile phone number, you will go to the next step.

Step 5. Enter your SMS verification code.

After the process, you will get QQ number(QQ ID), which means you’ve created QQ account successfully. Please write it down in case of forgetting. And login to your QQ account immediately. The account will be recycled in three days if you didn’t log in.

NOTE: If the process got an error that shows you “Webpage not available”, And pop up a page in Chinese. In this case, you can forward to way one method, or keep reading to continue the process. I will show you the last method. Create QQ account on the Chinese version of QQ.

#3: Register QQ account on the Chinese version App (step by step)

In this way, you might need to read Chinese characters. I know you have no idea of Chinese at all. But, don’t worry, follow my steps I will show you how. Also, if you’ve tried two ways above but still failed to, you definitely need to use this way.

Step 1: Download the Chinese version of the QQ App(Not international App).

I recommend you download the Chinese version of the QQ App from the google play store or App store So that you can download the latest version. If so, Then you can skip this paragraph go to the next steps. Or you can continue the process to download the Chinese version of QQ App when it pops up a Chinese page. You need to tap the blue text button[去手机QQ注册]. And then scroll down the page to the bottom and then click on the blue text[立即下载]. After finishing downloading the App, you need to install it on your phone.

NOTE: if APP keep popping up “为了你账号安全，请用最新版本注册QQ” that means you need to download the laste version of qq. Plasedownload. Even You already updated qq App from google play store or Apple store, then please go the qq official website to download it. Sometimes it’s still not the latest even from official website, then you need to go to China App store (like, Huawei store, Xiaomi store) to download the latest version of qq.

Step 2: Open QQ App and then click on[新用户注册] to sign up.

It might pop up Terms of users and Privicy& Policy when you open the App. Just click on [同意] to agree. And then click on[用户注册]

or [新用户注册] (Depends on the App version).

Step 3: Select your region code by Tapping[国家/地区] field.

I don’t recommend you scroll down to find your region. Actually, you can select your region code by searching it at the search bar (On the top of the screen). If they’re more than one region after entering region code. You need to google your region/country to translate into Chinese, as the region country are all listed in Chinese.

And then enter your phone number after selecting your region/ country. And click on the blue button text[下一步].

Step 4: Enter the SMS verification code.

QQ will ask for permission to read SMS and MMS records to get a verification SMS code. So, please click on[同意]or [Allow]. If you click [deny] or click it by mistake, you need to go to your phone settings to give permission.

The SMS verification code is digital numbers only. it looks like this as the image is shown below.

Step 5: Fill out your profile. Enter your Nickname and password.

Entering your Nickname and password. The password should be: 1. not contain space.  2. about 8-16 characters.  3. secure enough. And then click on the blue text[注册并登陆] or [登录] to login.

Finally, you create QQ account successfully. If you don’t know your QQ ID(QQ number), please check what’s the difference between QQ ID, WeChat ID, and QQ email. So now, you can go back to use qq international on your phone.
